Autumn to Fall

In Australia, the season before winter is Autumn, in the US it's Fall. I'd like to propose a slightly different system, at least for Ithaca. Autumn comes in September and October - the leaves turn glorious shades of red and orange making trees look somewhat surreal. Fall happens on a particularly windy day when pretty much all the beautiful leaves are blown off the trees, leaving them looking like spindly broomsticks. It's amazing to see the change happen so quickly! I still love watching the seasons roll by, although there is the realisation that snow is on the way, and it will soon be winter.
