Time flies
It's already been a week since I posted on this site - time really does fly. Thanks to everyone who commented on the previous post. It's nice to have the discussion, and it's a kind of cyber way for some of my spatially distant friends to meet one another.
There's not a great deal happening here. The weather is getting colder, although not much colder than Sydney in winter. The autumn leaves are beginning to fall though, and I'm sure the first snow is not too far away. In November the snow tyres go back on the car in preparation, and on the weekend we will finally come to the end of daylight savings. The dark afternoons will definately be a sign of imminent winter I think.
Last night was clear, and I was able to have a good look at the lunar eclipse - spectacular! Hopefully no one spotted me venturing outside in slippers and a dressing gown.
One really good thing that has been happening lately is catching up with a whole lot of people, by email, phone, and even snail mail. I feel fortunate to have so many friends who care about me - so often I get home to find a letter or postcard, or wake up to emailed news and photos. And I'm also making some new friends here, friends who have been making huge efforts to make sure I'm doing OK. Life is good.
