2008: Week 28
Another quiet week - at least I think so, since I just spent quite a bit longer than usual thinking up best and worst. In fact I can't really think of anything remarkable to write about.
The weekend was warm and sunny - hooray! Saturday afternoon was spent on the patio barbecuing with friends, then on Saturday evening Matt and I struck up the bocce challenge again. It was one match each before we escaped inside away from the mosquitoes.
Since we've had rather a lot of rain over the last few weeks our meagre garden is quite happy. This week we have some beautiful delphiniums flowering and attracting fat bumble bees. The species here is quite attractive with bright orange bands on their lower abdomens. I love watching them, they are so fat and furry it's amazing they can actually get off the ground! However they still move quite quickly, so it's difficult to capture them in focus.

Best of the week
- A truly warm weekend at last
- A crazy hail storm that left the ground looking as if we had snow in July, followed by a colleague looking out the window and really thinking it had snowed!
- Stampede - free pancake breakfasts and cheap beer/food at our local
Worst of the week
- Stampede - people in cowboy boots and hats EVERYWHERE!!!!!
- Not-so-good news from a friend :(
