It's all in the genes....

Some of you who know me well might have noticed that I have a tendency to sneeze on exposure to bright sunlight. It's not only me, but also at least one parent and one sibling (the others can enlighten me at their convenience). And in the past we have been the subject of some doubt and much laughter regarding this phenomenon.

You can imagine my surprise and delight to find that we are not crazy, merely among the 10% or so of the population who suffer from photic sneeze reflex, a dominantly inherited trait which causes the affected person to sneeze in response to bright light.

Go ahead and laugh, we know it's funny :D
